Nursing Clinical Placement Scholarship

2024 - Nursing Clinical Placement Scholarships

Community/Equity

The University of Wollongong’s Nursing Clinical Placement Scholarships, valued at $1500 each, are available for second (2nd) & third (3rd) year Bachelor of Nursing students. These scholarships seek to provide opportunities for nursing students to undertake a clinical placement outside their study region, where UOW has a campus and placement opportunities. For example, a nursing student studying in Bega could experience a placement in South Western Sydney, or a nursing student in South Western Sydney could experience a clinical placement in Batemans Bay supporting more regional and rurally isolated populations.

These scholarships are for students who are experiencing financial disadvantage and other educational disadvantages, because we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to succeed in higher education. There are a range of criteria looked at in determining equity eligibility, including but not limited to; low income, family background, living in a rural or isolated region, having a permanent disability, being a recent migrant from a non-English speaking country, and Indigenous Australians.

Applicants must be enrolled in either SNUG208 or SNUG308 in Spring session, and are required to complete a UAC Equity Application and a UOW scholarship application including a one (1) page outline of their career ambitions and how the scholarship will assist them during their placement.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must also submit a UAC Equity application in addition to the UOW Scholarship application.

Open from 12/Mar/2024 to 26/Apr/2024
