2024 Zonta Club of Wollongong Community Scholarship

Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global organisation of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. With more than 30,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 63 countries and geographic areas, Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents and support to local and international service projects, as well as scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta's mission and objectives.
The Zonta Club of Wollongong will provide one (1) female undergraduate student with $2,000, towards the costs of their studies at the University of Wollongong. Eligible student must currently reside in the Illawarra region and have completed their schooling in the area.
Selection will be based on application and interview.

Application Criteria
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong;
Applicants must be a female student, in line with the eligibility criteria for the Zonta Club of Wollongong;
Applicants must currently reside in the Illawarra region, and have completed their schooling in the area. The Greater Illawarra region covers the area to the east of the escarpment, and is bounded by Helensburgh and Kiama;
The successful recipient will be encouraged to attend a Club meeting to learn more about the members who afforded them this opportunity;
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
Applicants must provide a one page statement outlining: Your community involvement, how the scholarship will assist in your studies and career goals, and your commitment to empowering and supporting other women to achieve their goals
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65
