The Kerrie- Anne Christian and Joan Adams Scholarship for Engineering seeks to encourage female students in non-traditional fields of study, specifically in Engineering.
The scholarship will support female engineering students from the Illawarra region experiencing financial need. This follows the experiences of Kerrie-Anne who was also supported by a scholarship through her engineering studies at UOW, and has gone on to hold significant positions in the engineering field and within the local community. This has included 12 years serving on the council of the University of Wollongong and as an Alderman/Councillor on Wollongong City Council.
Applicants must submit an application via UAC Equity as well as a UOW Scholarship application to be considered for this scholarship

Application Criteria
Applicants must be commencing their 1st year of an undergraduate Engineering degree offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences;
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship;
Applicants must be a female resident of the Illawarra; this includes the local government areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee;
Applicants must demonstrate a need such as financial and/or social disadvantage. Equity criteria include but are not limited to - low income family background, living in a rural or isolated region, having a permanent disability, recently migrated from a non- English speaking country, Indigenous Australians, etc.;
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident;
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 50
Applicants are required to demonstrate community involvement via submission of a written statement.
