2019 EdStart Grants

Equity

EdStart grants are designed to assist students facing sustained or temporary significant financial hardship that requires urgent financial assistance. Technology, textbook, work integrated learning and graduation grants are paid directly to students via direct deposit to a nominated bank account. Accommodation grants are paid directly to UOW Accommodation to assist with the cost of on campus accommodation.

You can apply for EdStart if you:

- are completing your first Undergraduate Degree (students undertaking Postgraduate studies are not eligible to apply).

- are an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold an Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa.

- are enrolled at the University of Wollongong in 12 or more credit points in both Autumn and Spring Sessions 2019.

- can demonstrate financial need by receiving Centrelink income support payments such as ABSTUDY, Austudy, Youth Allowance, Newstart Allowance, Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment (Single) or the Carer Payment or living with family who are receiving Centrelink income support payments

Please note that students may only hold one (1) equity scholarship and EdStart grant each year.
