The Southern Highlands Community Foundation aims to support a thriving community through partnerships, leadership and giving. They focus on building and supporting long lasting initiatives and have distributed over $1M in grants into the Southern Highlands since 2002, strengthening and building a strong connected community.
The UOW Southern Highlands Community Foundation Indigenous Scholarship provides students with $7,500 per year over 3 years, and aims to provide financial assistance to support Southern Highlands Indigenous persons undertake academic study at the University of Wollongong. The objective of the scholarship is to assist the successful scholarship holder gain a university qualification that will build knowledge and skills and strengthen employment opportunities.

Application Criteria
Applicants must be enrolled in any undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong
Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, in line with the eligibility criteria for this scholarship
Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate degree at the UOW.
Applicants must originate from the Southern Highlands (Wingecarribee Shire LGA) and demonstrate a long term commitment to the area
Preference will be given to applicants enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong but part-time applicants can also apply.
Applicants must submit a one page statement outlining their connection to the Southern Highlands region and long term commitment in considering this their home.
Successful applicants must maintain enrolment in an undergraduate degree for the duration of the Scholarship.
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 55
