This scholarship is an opportunity for students commencing Phase 4 of the UOW Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Wollongong, School of Medicine in 2022, particularly Phase 4 students who would like to gain a better understanding and appreciation of rural medicine in Grafton and Maclean.
The Clarence Valley Regional Training Hub (CVRTH) is supporting a training continuum that extends from undergraduate medical training through to vocational training. Medical students on placement in this region will gain exposure to a diverse range of clinical presentations and they will also gain professional learning through participation in multi-disciplinary education and team approaches to patient care.
The CVRTH are offering up to twelve (12) $1,000 scholarships per year for UOW Phase 4 rotations, to support medical students with costs associated with travel, accommodation and relocation. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to rural, regional or remote medicine.

Application Criteria
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student as the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder.
Applicants must be enrolled in or commencing Phase 4 of the UOW Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Wollongong, School of Medicine in 2022
Applicants must have achieved and maintained a grade of satisfactory;
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to rural, regional or remote medicine by means of a written statement
Recipients must present to Grafton Base Hospital Grand Rounds during their placement
Preference will be given to students who are not engaged as an Assistant in Medicine (AIM)
