The Rhondda and Margaret Williams Scholarship for Rural Medicine is a significant scholarship valued at $100,000 supporting aspiring medical students to study at the University of Wollongong.
The scholarship seeks to support applicants from rural, regional and remote Australia who have completed their secondary schooling at a public school, and are passionate about addressing the shortage of rural doctors in Australia.
Applicants are asked to provide a UOW Application Package, and a one page statement outlining their commitment to rural medicine and how the scholarship will assist with their future career ambitions.
Successful recipients will be required to complete their Phase 3 placement in a rural area.

Application Criteria
Applicants must intend to enrol in Phase 1 of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the UOW Wollongong or Shoalhaven Campus.
Applicants must have completed their secondary schooling at a rural, regional or remote Australian public school - RA 2-5 as defined by the Graduate Medicine admissions process.
Applicants must provide a one page statement outlining their commitment to rural medicine and how the scholarship will assist with their future career ambitions.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder.
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship.
