2023 McKinnon Walker Indigenous Scholarship in Medicine

The newly established McKinnon Walker Indigenous Scholarship in Medicine aims to produce more Indigenous Doctors in our country, with the ultimate goal of improving Aboriginal health outcomes in the longer term. This scholarship will support one student throughout the duration of their postgraduate studies (maximum of 4 years) by providing $20,000 per annum to alleviate the cost of living and study expenses.
Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, and be intending to enroll in their first year of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Wollongong in 2023, on a full-time basis.

Applicants must be intending to enroll in their first year of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Wollongong.
Applicants must be intending to enroll full-time at the University of Wollongong in 2023.
Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen
Successful applicants must maintain enrolment in an eligible degree program as stipulated within the scholarship criteria
Successful applicants must maintain a grade of Satisfactory throughout the duration of the Scholarship
