SJL Consulting Engineers are an engineering consultancy based in Wagga Wagga in the Riverina Area offering structural engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, project management, architecture and drafting services. Our expertise extends across both public and private sectors, with previous experience in residential, commercial, industrial, agriculture, mining, rail, roads, bulk earthworks and education projects.
This scholarship is an exciting opportunity for a UOW engineering student in their penultimate or final year, majoring in Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering, to gain valuable work experience and engage with engineering theory in practice. Applicants must originate from a rural or regional area which is to be demonstrated in a written statement.
The work experience component of this scholarship, up to 60 days (12 weeks) per annum, will be undertaken in Wagga Wagga, negotiated between the Donor and Scholar, ideally during session breaks and/or during the academic session if possible.
Selection will be based on application and interview.

Application Criteria
Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong.
Applicants must be enrolled in their penultimate or final year of Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Architectural) at the University of Wollongong, and may also be enrolled in a double degree.
Applicants must originate from a rural or regional area, and be able to demonstrate this in their written statement.
Applicants must be available for up to 12 weeks of work experience in Wagga Wagga during the calendar year – accommodation assistance can be provided upon request.
Successful applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at UOW for the duration of the Scholarship.
Successful applicants must maintain enrolment in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Architectural) at the University of Wollongong.
Applicants must provide a one page statement demonstrating that you originate from a rural or regional community and outlining how the scholarship will assist you with your career ambitions
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder.
