2025 The Lorna Earl and William Woodberry Scholarship

Generously established by the Lorna Earl and William Woodberry Scholarship fund (administered by Workplace Giving Australia), this scholarship supports up to eight (8) Indigenous students enrolled in their first year of a bachelor's degree at the University of Wollongong in 2025.
While priority will be given to students from St John Evangelist High School, we strongly encourage all students who completed their HSC in 2024 at high schools within the Diocese of Wollongong to apply. Eligible high schools include:
- St John the Evangelist Catholic High School (Nowra) - Chevalier College (Bowral) - St Patrick's College (Campbelltown) - St Paul's International College (Moss Vale) - Edmund Rice College (West Wollongong) - St Mary Star of the Sea College (Wollongong) - St Gregory's College (Campbelltown) - Mater Dei School (Camden) - St Joseph's Catholic School (Albion Park) - Holy Spirit College (Bellambi) - St Francis Catholic College (Edmonson Park) - Magdalene Catholic College (Narellan) - Corpus Christi Catholic High School (Oak Flats) - St Benedict's Catholic College (Oran Park) - John Therry Catholic College (Rosemeadow) - Mount Carmel Catholic College (Varroville)
Lorna Earl and William Woodberry sought to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to further their education and hope that this scholarship would contribute to the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's education.
Applicants are asked to complete a UOW scholarship application package and a one-page statement that outlines your community involvement and how this scholarship will assist you in your career ambitions.

Application Criteria
Successful applicants must remain enrolled in an undergraduate degree at any onshore campus at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship.

Applicants must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, with a completed Confirmation of Aboriginality Declaration submitted to the Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC): https://documents.uow.edu.au/content/groups/public/@web/@wic/documents/doc/uow269337.pdf.
