GO Foundation - Integrity. Equality. Opportunity. Strength in Culture
The GO Foundation and the University of Wollongong are proud to invite applicants for a new GO Foundation Scholarship for Future and Current Indigenous Students at the University of Wollongong.
The GO Foundation was founded by Sydney Swans legend, Adam Goodes (Adnyamathanha and Narungga man) and Michael O'Loughlin (Kaurna, Ngarrindjeri and Narungga man) to empower young Indigenous Australians through education. The purpose of the GO Foundation is to create opportunities for young people through the delivery of a holistic program with a focus on culture and aspiration to help them reach their full potential.
The GO Foundation Scholarship provides wrap around support to help with all educational needs. With the help of GO Foundation partners, recipients of a GO Scholarship are introduced to a broad range of access and opportunities to broaden students' perspectives and provide access to cultural mentoring through GO's Culture connect days.
As an Indigenous-led initiative, the GO Program design is firmly grounded in first-hand knowledge and experience regarding how to improve the quality and outcomes of education for Indigenous people.
Applicants must be a current UOW students or a future student commencing at UOW in 2024 and be able to demonstrate how they meet the GO Foundation criteria by way of a written statement, including: good standing with their education provider, an aspiration to work hard and achieve, a strong cultural identity, community involvement and how the scholarship will assist them financially.
