This opportunity will see two WIL students working collaboratively and independently to assist IPD in delivering strategic projects. IPD currently has a number of critical projects being delivered, so depending on engineering disciplines, projects which you may be involved with include:
- Renewable energy and storage systems
- Electrification retrofits
- Data collection and analysis
- Land remediation and management
- Infrastructure systems
- HVAC installation
This work placement will be supervised by accredited engineers and will run at a hybrid pace from 29 June - 11 December, providing an effective 12 weeks (60 days) work placement to satisfy UOW work placement requirements necessary to graduate. The program will run as follows:
Full time: 29 June - 24 July (4 weeks)
Part time: 27 July - 30 October (5 weeks)
Exams: 02 November - 19 November (no work)

While working at IPD, students will have the opportunity to work alongside various teams (sustainability, asset management, project management, campus planning, transport, maintenance, etc.) to better understand the operations of UOW's built environment. Through this program, students will obtain insights into the particulars of project management and planning, stakeholder engagement legislative reporting, and have the opportunity to perform site inspections and fieldwork.
The successful candidates will be given the opportunity to gain valuable and relevant work experience in their field of study, whilst also receiving significant financial assistance.
