The Stevenson Family Scholarship in Social Work is offered as an encouragement to prospective students who are seeking to improve the lives of others through the completion of a Bachelor of Social Work. The aim of this scholarship is to essentially "help the helpers", to recognise those students who are committed to giving back to their communities, and are driven to use their tertiary qualification to pursue a career in the Community Services Sector.
Applicants will be asked to submit a statement outlining their commitment and passion for a career in the community/social services industry and their involvement in activities that benefit the community. Mature aged students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Selection will be based on shortlisting and interview

Application Criteria
Applicants be intending to enrol in first (1st) year of a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Wollongong in 2024
Successful applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
Preference will be given to applicants who originate from the Southern Highlands region
Mature age students are encouraged to apply
Applicants are required to demonstrate community involvement via submission of a written statement
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65
Recipients will be encouraged to engage with their donor for the purpose of demonstrating the impact the scholarship has had on their academic success
Applicants will be required to provide a one-page statement outlining their commitment and passion for a career in the community/social services industry and their involvement in activities that benefit the community
