The Patterson Family Scholarship serves to recognise the next generation of educators by providing support to students enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University's School of Education.
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must also submit a UAC Equity application in addition to the UOW Scholarship application and a one-page statement outlining commitment to completion of tertiary study and a career in the education sector. UAC Equity applications will open from 2nd April 2025.

Application Criteria
Applicants must be enrolled in their first year of an undergraduate degree within the School of Education in 2025;
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student for the duration of this scholarship;
Applicants must demonstrate financial and/or educational challenges. Educational challenges and attributes include but are not limited to; low income family background, carer responsibilities; English language difficulty; long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse; living in a rural or isolated region; sole parent responsibilities; refugee status and Indigenous Australians
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder.
Preference will be given to female and/or refugee applicants.
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 50+
