The John Ryan Memorial Scholarship is available to Doctor of Medicine (MD)students commencing Phase 3 in Spring at the School of Graduate Medicine, Shoalhaven Campus.
John Ryan was an active member of the Nowra Apex Club and the Rotary Club of Bomaderry. He worked tirelessly for his community and this scholarship has been established by John's family, Australian Paper, Silcar, his work mates, members of the community and members of the Rotary Club of Bomaderry to honour John's memory.
Applicants are asked to provide a one page statement outlining their connection to the Shoalhaven region, how the scholarship will assist their studies and career goals, and their commitment to working in a rural setting.

Application Criteria
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship;
Applicants must be enrolled in Phase 3 in Spring 2024 of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the School of Graduate Medicine, Shoalhaven campus;
Applicants must be based in the Shoalhaven / Milton Ulladulla Hubs;
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to working in a rural setting, and address this in a one page written statement as part of their application (no more than one page);
Applicants must have achieved and maintain a minimum grade of satisfactory;
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
