The Illawarra Community Scholarship in Finance aims to financially support students that have originated from a rural or regional location, including the Illawarra region. The scholarship is aimed at students studying Mathematics, Finance or Economics who have a passion for the financial services industry and a track record of exemplary academic achievement.
Awarded by two former UOW students, this Scholarship acknowledges that all talented students deserve to make the most of their higher education regardless of their financial or social situation. The scholarship seeks to assist a first or second year student in embarking on a finance-related degree at the University of Wollongong.

Application Criteria
Applicants must be enrolled in their 1st or 2nd year of a degree program within either the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics or the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance;
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student as the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship;
Applicants are required to demonstrate how the Scholarship will assist with their studies; their commitment to, and involvement in the Illawarra region; and their career aspirations in the finance industry
Applicants must maintain a weighted average mark of 70+
Applicants are required to provide a brief response to the following questions: i) If you could not study at university, what would you do for the next 3-5 years? ii) From a professional context, name 3 people you would invite to dinner and why
