The Bruce Gordon Scholarship for Journalism

The 2018 Bruce Gordon Scholarship for Journalism

Work Integrated Learning

Bruce Gordon has always maintained that the heart of regional journalism is telling great stories. As the founder and owner of the WIN Network, Australia's largest commercial television network, the scholarship reflects Mr Gordon’s passion for regional news and supporting a new generation of journalists. With 16 individual local half-hour WIN News bulletins each weeknight across regional and rural Australia, the WIN Network is committed to providing a voice for the potential 8 million viewers in its broadcast areas across Australia.

The Bruce Gordon Scholarship for Journalism was established to invest in journalism by providing University of Wollongong students with financial assistance and, importantly, the opportunity to gain valuable and practical work experience that prepares them for the day-to-day rigours of the field of Journalism.

The scholarship is available to students who are undertaking or have completed journalism subject JRNL204 Video Production 1 as part of their undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong.
