The Miller Family Bridgewater IHMRI Honours Scholarship provides Honours students commencing 2019 with an opportunity to develop skills and training in dementia research in the Illawarra region.
The aim of this scholarship is to encourage Honours students to pursue Higher Degree research into the diagnosis, cure, treatment and improved care for people suffering from dementia, and to recognise the efforts of students who give back to the community.
Selection will be based on application and interview.

Application Criteria
Applicants must maintain enrolment in a research Honours Bachelor Degree program in 2019;
Applicants must select a research project in one or more of the following areas of research;
1. Investigations into the molecular and genetic factors that may cause dementia and/or lead to novel diagnostics or therapeutics, 2. Developing interventions to reduce the impact or progression of disease, or 3. Developing ways to improve the diagnosis and care of people suffering from dementia;
Applicants must have a supervisor who is an IHMRI affiliated researcher or clinician who has agreed to supervise the student for the term of the Honours project and who has fully discussed the project proposal and timeline with the student before the application is lodged;
If a successful applicant is enrolled part-time the scholarship will be paid pro-rata - $1,500 per annum for up to two years.
