De Dominicis Foundation Opportunity Scholarship for STEM Students was established in 2021, by Robert De Dominicis. The purpose of this scholarship is to support commencing students at the University of Wollongong who are passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and experiencing financial difficulty.
This scholarship provides $15,000 per year, over 3 years - a total of $45,000 - to eligible students who are committed to maintaining a credit average in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related undergraduate course.
Applicants must have an ATAR (or equivalent) of 70 or above, be able to demonstrate financial need via a UAC Equity Scholarship online application and provide a one page statement outlining their future career ambitions in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
Selection will be based on application to UOW Scholarships and UAC Equity. Applicants will only be considered if they have submitted both applications.

Application Criteria
Applicants must be commencing study in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related undergraduate course;
Successful applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship.
Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need. UOW also takes into consideration the following forms of educational disadvantage and applicant attributes when awarding equity scholarships: carer responsibilities; English language difficulty; long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse; regional or remote disadvantage; sole parent responsibilities; refugee status and Indigenous Australians.
Applicants must be commencing study at UOW in 2023 as a full-time first year undergraduate student;
