This scholarship acknowledges the long-standing connection of John, Belle and Richard Miller's family to the Illawarra Region.
This scholarship is a representation of the Miller family's desire to support the studies of students in need, and recognises those who are involved in the community.
Applicants must apply through UAC Equity and also provide UOW a one page outline of their involvement in the community and how the scholarship will assist with their career ambitions.

Application Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate financial and/or educational challenges. Educational challenges and attributes include but are not limited to; low income family background, carer responsibilities; English language difficulty; long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse; living in a rural or isolated region; sole parent responsibilities; refugee status and Indigenous Australians.
Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship;
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder
Applicants must be commencing study in 2025 as a full-time first year undergraduate student at UOW;
Applicants must submit an application via UOW Scholarship and UAC Equity to be considered for this scholarship.
Applicants must submit a resume (2-3 pages max) and cover letter (1 page max) that includes (a) how the scholarship will assist in your studies & (b) your involvement in activities which add value to the community.
